Six months in America?

Thank author of this post/commentHey, so me and three of my friends are looking to spend some time in America when we're 18. We wanna do a road trip across the country, taking in most of the sights and also going to one or two sports matches. Just wondered how long you guys thought we'd need to be there for to do that, and how much it would cost. Thanks.
